The Summer Party was held at Carlton Hall, Carlton-on-Trent, by kind invitation of Mr and Mrs George Vere-Laurie. The evening remained fine and warm and the refreshments were delicious, after which The Lord Cormack, DL, FSA spoke on “The Fascination of old churches” in the village church of St. Mary’s.
The fourth edition of the Trust’s newsletter is now available for downloading. It includes articles on various NHCT grant-aided restoration projects, last year’s Ride + Stride event and a profile of the recently retired treasurer, Keith Goodman.
The Nottinghamshire Historic Churches Trust was founded in 1986 and gave its first grants in 1987. It raises money to grant-aid historic churches and chapels in Nottinghamshire. It is non-denominational and can consider making grants to any Christian historic church or chapel in need of support.
